Sizwe IT Group is majority owned by JSE-listed Convergenet Holdings Ltd, a black-owned IT services holding group, which affords us the necessary resources to grow aggressively while still delivering world-class services. This shareholding and our company structure have enabled us to achieve an Empowerdex AA BBBEE rating.
Further evidence of our commitment to the country and upliftment of its people is to be found in our Corporate Social Investment initiatives.
Paramount among these is the Dr Sam Motsuenyane Rural Development Foundation, which seeks to support and develop emerging farmers. To date, this project has touched the lives of 200 emerging and small-holder farmers through three co-operatives that collectively work 6000 hectares of land for the farming of crops, citrus orchards and vegetables.
Such is the success of the initiative, that about 8 000 citrus trees have been planted, producing more than 100 tons of crops annually. This has created 30 permanent and approximately 1 500 seasonal jobs, with the potential to create many more in coming years.
