Tim has been a well-known broadcasting personality for more than 27 years now. He was a political analyst for Credit Suisse First Boston until 2002 and chaired the Proudly South African campaign until 2005. He received the Best Broadcaster Radio award in 1991 and the Rotary award for Community Service in 1999. In 2001, Tim won the Reconciliation award, the TV and Radio Presenter award, the President’s award and the Communicator of the Year award. Subsequent to that, he also received the Paul Harris award (2002), the “Best Man” award (2004) and the Old Mutual leadership award (2004). The prestigious Jaime Brunet award for the promotion of human rights, previously awarded to the Dalai Lama, was bestowed on Tim in 2003. He currently serves on the board of Sizwe as Chief Executive Officer where he holds a minority share.
Ben originally started his career in the textile industry where he remained for a total of fifteen years. Then, after a brief sojourn in the advertising world, Ben made a successful transition to the IT sector where he became a partner in Comsel4. In 2002, Ben was involved in the establishment of Sizwe, where he currently serves as Executive Chairman and in which he retains a minority shareholding. Ben is also a director of various local companies.
Hanno qualified as an accountant in 1986 after studying through the University of Pretoria and UNISA. After practicing as an accountant in a Civil Engineering concern for a few years, Hanno entered the IT sector as an entrepreneur to successfully run his own business for a period of six years. In 2000, Hanno joined Comsel4 as a partner and in 2002 became involved in the establishment of Sizwe, where he currently serves as Financial Director and in which he retains a minority shareholding.
A true industry veteran, Pieter offers more than 30 years' valuable experience of the ICT sector where he served in several executive, and general management positions. During the earlier part of his career, Pieter was involved with companies such as Olivetti, Amdahl, ICL and Philips; in the later part, he served as an Executive Director at Sybase SA and more recently he was one of the Group Executive Directors at the AST Group, now called GijimaAst. His executive responsibilities included strategy, the industry solutions businesses, the managed services businesses as well as marketing. Pieter is a founding member of ConvergeNet Holdings.
Gordon is an international business developer and entrepreneur in the IT Service and Telecommunications sectors. Having led the formation of numerous consortia in different geographies, Gordon has an in-depth understanding of both the challenges and the opportunities emerging markets present. He was a founding member of Datatec and a part of the team that listed the company in 1994. Subsequent to the listing, Gordon took charge of the mobile subsidiaries' growth within the international market and served as Executive Chairman of the Datatec subsidiary, RangeGate (UK). It was in this role that he architected and led an international expansion strategy, which saw the subsidiary successfully enter the UK market. After leaving Datatec in 2002, Gordon became a founding member of the Adage Group of Companies in the UK. The Group plays advisory and principal roles in telecommunication-, IT- and financial services businesses in the UK and in Africa. Gordon serves as director on several boards - both in the UK and locally. Gordon is a founding member of ConvergeNet Holdings.
